The Need to recognise Key Skills Within Your Business

Key StaffOften it goes unseen the good some employees do and can be taken for granted, without these key staff members where could that leave your business?

There’s always one/two people in every office who  is the go to person when a problem arises that everyone knows will take the time out of their schedule to rectify a problem. Your probably sat there thinking who that exact person is or thinking that’s yourself and feel under valued.

I had a recent conversation with an employee of an international company who works at the public front of the business in a satellite branch. they would be the person who would take phone calls and emails throughout the day with problems and issues from other branches, now this certain person wasn’t a manager or supervisor and was not given anything extra for what they would do, they would just get on with it and this would 99% of the time feel like it went un-noticed.

They were left feeling under-valued, now fortunately this person is not the type to be unmotivated by this but we discussed how quite easily someone else could be unmotivated and look to move employment.

These staff are the ones that need to be recognised for their actions, now this could be something as simple as a phone call from management to say thank you and let these key members know they are valued.

You must remember that without these key staff your business could suffer and result in profits reducing and branches or offices under performing. So take 5 minutes and pick the phone up and say Thank You!support
